You may know Sonya Sombreuil from her iconic independent clothing brand, Come Tees, or from Classic Hits, the wonderful store she opened to sell both Come Tees and other like minded designers from her community. You may know Sonya Sombreuil from her awesome paintings, or any number of other curatorial projects she has initiated to promote her fellow artists whenever possible. You may know of Stephen Ostrowski (@sno.global) from their wonderful paintings, or from their epic skateboarding, or from GLUE, the skateboard company which they founded in 2020 with colleagues Cher Strauberry and Leo Baker. (Note: I wanted to just mention that unfortunately we didn’t get to discuss the very inspiring social justice community sidewalk sale events that Stephen Ostrowski staged across multiple Sundays last year in a park in Brooklyn NY with Sachiko Clyde, Perry Goodman, Aaron Wiggs and many other collaborators, raising over $250k for various people, businesses and organizations affected by life in 2020. In the course of all we did cover, this somehow slipped through, but I am hoping we can talk about it in a future episode ;.)
